About
We’re Different
Libra Fitness is not just about breaking a sweat or getting into that size 8 dress for your high school reunion. It’s about living a long, happy, and well-balanced life. It’s about wanting to set the best example you can for your children and grandchildren. It’s about seriously analyzing the long-term consequences of the short-term choices you make and deciding to commit to making a real lifestyle change, one step at a time.
Libra Fitness, unlike commercial gyms, provides a more personal experience in a non-threatening, quiet, and caring in-home environment. No one else is watching here. You work one-on-one with your personal trainer who is solely focused on you. Your trainer will listen and provide you with the encouragement, mentoring, and motivation you need to do what may have been difficult in the past. We put our expertise to work to help you learn healthy eating and exercise habits that are reasonable and sustainable. At the same time, we encourage you to find those other elements (spiritual practice, free time, relationships with quality health professionals, social networks, etc.) that complement our services to really create the life you want.
Our Mission: To provide the tools necessary for you to consistently and confidently embrace and maintain a well-balanced lifestyle that includes healthy eating and exercise as critical components.
We want to help you get there…and stay there!

Hi! I’m Chris Heidel. I have 7 years’ experience creating and implementing various training plans, and I obtained my personal training certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE®) in 2007.
I am a fitness enthusiast, but I haven’t always been. I like to tell a story about how I was the kid who got left at school when everyone else went to field day. That all changed several years ago when a friend encouraged me to train for a triathlon. I didn’t think I could do it, but I did! Then I became interested in resistance training, healthy eating, and otherwise leading a well-rounded, balanced lifestyle.
Eventually, I decided to turn my passion into my business. I created Libra Fitness because I want to help YOU get to field day or reach whatever goals you set for yourself, even if you have never exercised before. I want to show you that although it’s not easy, it doesn’t have to be that hard either. Being fit doesn’t require you to get up and go to boot camp at 5:00 AM. You don’t need to hang upside down off of a stability ball the first day you work with a trainer either. What being fit does require is tools, education, support, and commitment. “Fitness” is easiest to maintain when it is part of a well-balanced lifestyle that includes rest, companionship, spiritual or meditative practice, healthy eating, and exercise. I get that, and I want to support you in your quest towards finding that balance for yourself.
